Specimen Requirements

Specimen must arrive within 2 days of draw.


Container/Tube: Gold-top serum gel tube or plain, red-top tube-Hemolyzed or lipemic specimen is not acceptable.
Specimen: 1 mL of serum

Transport Temperature: Refrigerate ≤2 days

Collection Instructions: If there is a delay in transport of >2 days or if mailing time exceeds 2 days, send specimen frozen in plastic vial.

Reference Values

Negative

(If positive, an ENA profile and dsDNA titer will be done automatically.)  The ENA profile includes the following: SSA/Ro, SSB/La, Sm, RNP, SCL-70 and Jo1.  If you need additional markers, they will need to be ordered separately.
