Specimen Requirements

Container/Tube:

Preferred: Green-top (lithium heparin) tube

Acceptable: Gold-top serum gel tube or plain red-top tube

Specimen Volume: 0.1 mL of plasma or serum

Stability: Separated serum/plasma samples should be stored at 2 - 8ºC and analyzed

                 within 48 hours.  For longer storage, samples should be frozen at or below   -20 ºC.
