Specimen Requirements

Preferred:

Nasopharyngeal Swab

1. Submit nasopharyngeal swab (flocked swab in Universal Transport Media (UTM)).  Collection kits available from the laboratory upon request.  NOTE: Calcium alginate swabs are not acceptable.

2. Maintain sterility and forward promptly.

NOTE: Indicate specimen source on specimen container and in computer.
