Specimen Requirements
Contact the laboratory to obtain special collection kit (required) and instructions.
Container/Tube:
Preferred: Cervicovaginal specimen collected on a sterile polyester tipped swab
provided in the Rapid fFN specimen collection and transport kit.
Stability: 8 hours at room temperature, 3 days at 2 - 8°C, and 3 months if frozen
Collection Instructions:
1. Specimen must be collected prior to any other internal physical exam.
2. Contamination of specimen with lubricants, soaps, or disinfectants may interfere with assay.
