Specimen Requirements

Container/Tube:

Preferred: Green-top (lithium heparin) tube

Acceptable: Gold-top serum gel tube, plain red-top tube, or EDTA plasma

Specimen Volume: minimum of 1.3 µL plus a dead volume

Stability: Stability in serum/plasma is 6 days at 20-25 ⁰C, 4 weeks at 4-8 ⁰C, and 1 year at -15 to -25 ⁰C.
