Specimen Requirements
Container/Tube:
Preferred: Random Urine Collection
Specimen Volume: 0.1 mL from a random urine collection
Stability: Urine specimens may be stored up to 4 days at 2-8°C.
Collection Instructions: When preparing for collection, add 1-2 ml of 6N HCl per
random specimen. Alternatively, specimen may be just refrigerated during
collection, and acidified to a pH of 2 upon receipt in laboratory. (FOR LAB USE ONLY)
