Container/Tube:  Gold-top serum or red-top serum tube, green-top lithium heparin, lavender-top EDTA

Specimen:  0.5 mL of serum

Minimum:  0.2 mL of serum and dead space

Stability:

  • Room temperature:  5 days  
  • Refrigeration (2°-8°C):  14 days
  • Frozen (≤ -20°C): 6 months.  Samples may be frozen 3 times.

Transport:  Refrigerated
