Useful For
Testing for IgE antibodies may be useful to establish the diagnosis of an allergic disease and to define the allergens responsible for eliciting signs and symptoms.
Specimen Requirements
Serum
Container/Tube: Serum gel tube or plain, red-top tube
Specimen: 40 uL for each allergen in addition to 200 uL for dead space serum
Note: Label specimen appropriately (serum).
Minimum Specimen Volume
Serum: 300 uL for one allergen
