Specimen Requirements
Container/Tube:
Preferred: Green-top (heparin) tube-Hemolyzed specimen is not acceptable.
Acceptable: Gold-top serum gel tube or plain red-top tube
Specimen Volume: A minimum sample volume of 2.4 µL plus a dead volume
Stability: Serum or plasma should be separated from the cells within 2 hours of collection.
Specimens may be stored at 2 – 25°C for 7 days and up to 12 months at -20°C or colder.
