 - Chlamydophila pneumoniae

 

Results of the panel are intended to aid in the diagnosis of illness and are meant to be used in conjunction with other clinical and epidemiological findings.

Specimen Requirements

Preferred:

Nasopharyngeal Swab

1. Submit nasopharyngeal swab with Universal Transport Medium (available from St. Luke’s Laboratory).  Specimen must be refrigerated within 4 hours of collection. Refrigerate up to 3 days. Freeze for up to 30 days.

2. Maintain sterility and forward promptly.

Note: Indicate specimen source on specimen container and in computer.

Specimen Transport Temperature

Transport specimen to laboratory as soon after collection as possible. Refrigerate at 2-8° C  if there will be a delay.
