Specimen Requirements

Container/Tube:

Preferred: Gold-top serum gel tube

Acceptable:  Plain, red-top tube

Specimen Volume: 160 uL of serum

Stability:  If the assay is performed within nine days of sample collection, the samples may be kept at 2-8°C; otherwise they should be dispensed in aliquots and stored deep-frozen (–20°C or below).

If samples are stored frozen, mix thawed samples well before testing.  Samples have shown stability up to six freeze-thaw cycles.

Collection Instructions:Serum should be separated from the clot as soon as possible.
